"Merle d' Amerique"

Mother robins build their nests
in rooves and eaves and bend of trees.
And forage on a sheltered ledge
in waiting while her nestlings fledge.
Whose quivering wings protect their brood
and glean the forest's edge for food.
With grass and twigs they weave and sew
while sweetest song on us bestow.
These harbingers of spring we see
in Dogwood, Oak, and Maple tree.
